MSHA Part 46 training is mandatory for individuals working at surface mining operations. New miners must complete the New Miner Training, while experienced miners must take Refresher Training annually.

The training covers a range of topics, including hazard recognition, health and safety regulations, emergency procedures, mine-specific procedures, and the proper use of equipment and machinery.

MSHA Part 46 training is typically designed for surface mining operations, including sand, gravel, surface stone, and certain underground operations. Different training requirements apply to underground coal mining (MSHA Part 48).

The duration of the New Miner Training can vary but generally takes around 8 hours of instruction. This training is self paced and can be completed at the individuals convenience. Once you complete the course, your employer will provide an additional 16 hours of training at the mine to teach you about  site-specific hazards.

Refresher Training is required annually for experienced miners. It serves to reinforce and update their knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Yes, upon successful completion of MSHA Part 46 training, participants receive a certificate of training. This certification is proof of compliance with MSHA requirements.

Yes, MSHA Part 46 training is recognized and enforced nationwide by the Mine Safety and Health Administration to ensure a high standard of safety in the mining industry.

There is no specific age requirement for MSHA Part 46 training. However, participants must be legally eligible to work in a mining operation.

After you pay you will be taken to your organization’s admin dashboard. This is where you can begin assigning the course to your employees. Each employee will be assigned and send their unique username and password so they can login at their convenience and complete the course. 

As the administrator you will be able to view each employees course progress and completion status. You can download each individuals certificate once they have completed the course. 

You can also leverage the admin dashboard to continue and add new employees as the need arises.
